RFT News: Duke Energy Buck Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Power Plant Simulator

Update The Duke Energy Buck Station 2x1 Combined Cycle Simulator was declared Ready for Training in October 2014. Duke Energy awarded WSC a contract to provide a full scope simulator for the 620 MW Buck Station 2x1 Combined Cycle Station. The high fidelity models will simulate two GE 7FA combustion turbines with a GE Mark VI Virtual DCS, two Vogt triple pressure Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs) and one GE D11 steam turbine-generator, also with a GE Mark VI Virtual DCS and all necessary auxiliary systems. Overall control of the combined-cycle plants is through a virtual Westinghouse Ovation DCS. WSC is also providing our state of the art 3KEYMASTER Instructor Station and a custom control room operator console, which supports the numerous operator HMI LCDs.
